FROM THE BASSMASTER LIVE BLOG – article by Steve Wright
THE NUMBER IS 42
You can make a fairly educated guess about the minimum three-day total it will take to make the top 12 for Sunday. That would be 42 pounds. Randall Tharp and Jacob Powroznik have already passed that mark, and four other anglers are only ounces way.
While the venues have changed the past two days, the weight needed for 12th place has varied little. David Walker was in 12th place on Day 1 at Norfork with 13-7. Brandon Palaniuk was in 12th place on Day 2 at Bull Shoals with 27-9 – an average of 13-12 1/2.
If you round that up to 14 pounds and multiple by three days, the educated guess equals 42 pounds.
So if Bassmaster are on the money Carl would need around 13lb 1oz to get inside the “12”
