It was moving day and Carl jumped 33 spots yesterday, tonight his chasing 21 spots. At the end of todays weigh in he must finish in the TOP 12 to fish the final day – Championship Sunday.
Carl will start tonight in 33rd place, 4lb 7oz short of 12th spot and 13lb 8oz behind current leader Dave Lefebre.
Many interesting comments from the Pro’s after Day 2 weigh in, some saying they are learning a lot and are very confident of catching a bigger limit today while others who have been bringing in big weights to the stage are not sure if their fish will hold up. To add to the interest tonight they had a significant storm hit the fishery at the conclusion of the weigh in.
One hardcore local angler believes the storm front coming in brings with it a low pressure system which he believes are going to fire up those giant bass. His comments have a lot of substance as in the last hour of yesterdays session while the storm was building there was a flurry of 6 to 7 pounders landed. Another interesting comment on Bassmaster yesterday was the largemouth may dry up and the final day could be won on smallmouth.
Carl weighed in one of the 11 heaviest bags of day 2, he will need to do it again. 15 pounds was roughly the weight he was landing in practice and he is going to need close to that again tonight to make the all important TOP 12 Cut.
Interesting points for tonights viewing
There was a bit of spot hustling yesterday as seen on LIVE, will Anglers get to fish their chosen spot?
Will today require a change of lure/technique?
Did Anglers catch/upgrade too many bass off their spots yesterday?
