Day three Bassmaster Elite Santee Cooper, caught three nice ones early and then lost a few hours of fishing with a power issue. Finally got it sorted and fished my heart out till the end and caught my 4th keeper on my very last flip of the day, pushing it until the final seconds.
Jumped on pad to head back and hit a stump folding an ear on my prop with 25 minutes to go and 35 plus mph winds on the main lake. Changed my prop out in record time thanks to the @thmarineteam Prop wrench and Prop stop, all from inside the boat as there was nowhere to get out. Got back on pad and ran through some sketchy areas as we didn’t have time to idle, hold your breath kind of stuff. Got under the main bridge did some calculations I turn to EK and say we are gunna make it, I spoke to soon.
We were met by some of the biggest waves I’ve ever seen on a lake like that. After a very intense 18 minute boat ride we entered the creek where check in was, I started yelling top note “IS THAT ALL YOU GOT” EK joined in as we dropped off pad with 15 seconds to go before I was late. 3.20 and 45 seconds on the clock, I was due in at 3.20. If it hits 3.21 I’m officially late and lose 1lb every minute, that last flip fish put us back in the lead going into the final day.
After removing several lures from EK so he could get out of the seat and a few hours at the service crew we were back and ready to take on day 4. A day I won’t forget and EK and I are now sworn blood brothers after surviving an adversity filled day.
Thanks for hanging in with me mate, your a champion!
